I'm seriously illegal today. Well, say I'm supposed to be in office wear given that it's Tuesday and so far nobody in this side of the island has invent "Casual Tuesday" yet...so yeah. I'm in hoodie and leggings. I'm so not meant to be here.

Hello all, I am currently blogging from the cab I'm in. Yes yes, mobile broadband rocks. Everybody should get one. But that's not the point today. (I am not bragging, if any childish mind out there thinks so. Yes, you're that close to being labelled 'imbecile'.)

Today's point is how work made me feel, different. To put it simply, more independent and less afraid to be alone, and then slowly I become more confident of myself and who I am. So I guess this attachment seriously came at a right time; when I'm feeling all vulnerable and weak. I kinda enjoy the confidence that I feel everyday at work now. Be it just travelling distances alone, or stepping out of my comfort zone to be nice to people whom names I don't even know. I must say, it's pretty amazing how a week of work can actually change the way I view things and present myself.

As tiring as it may be to be working and staring at Photoshop everyday from 9AM onwards, at the end of my very first week I am actually feeling as though I have gained something. Be it knowledge about the working class or just something new each day about Photoshop, the feeling is quite liberating.

So I reckon this is a learning phase, a moment in your life where you're forced to grow up and think on your own. But sometimes I'd wonder, if the people that I used to rely on suddenly realise that I don't need to depend on them any more, what would they feel? Happy? Sad? Afraid? Sceptical? I don't know, why not you guys tell me. Leave a comment and let me know. Provided you do read my blogposts in the first place.

But anyway, I'm glad that it's the weekends and things are just getting better...

P.S.: Pray for my baby's speedy recovery! That brave soul just got his tonsils removed. And I'm glad he did. No more tonsillitis, baby! <3!

Kay kay, darlings, I'm back.
Nah, exams are far from over but I guess a little post at 1AM won't hurt anyone.

So I've been running to this little piece of heaven on the internet called Twitter ever so often. And you must wonder, what's so great bout' Twitter?

Yeah, I must say, Twitter's kinda boring to like, stare at the whole day, specially if you're following 18 people and nobody updates THAT often. But you see, I like Twitter cos', nobody knows me there. I mean, 16 people following me and with three quarters of that not being active on Twitter, it kinda means that I can say whatever I want, as and when I want to, on Twitter.
No, I'm not saying things are gonna get explicit but I'm just saying that I can blatantly describe the crazy stuff I'm feeling due to hormones or just a lack of sugar without worrying that some adult or worse still, some family member might chance upon it and then decide to label me as the black sheep of the family. Though I kinda already am.

But that's not that point.

Point is, Twitter gives me my freedom of speech cos' of the size on my social circle there...or lack of. Whatever. I just get to say what I want and I'm happy.

I'm controversial, always have, always will be.

So I guess that's all for this little post. Oh and, those of you out there that are mad curious bout' what I tweet about on Twitter, don't be. I like my little piece of heaven on the internet just the way it is.

And I guess sometimes life gets crazy and the stress of living becomes overwhelming. But now I can see, the many things that lay around me and the people that care. So everyday I work towards a future I can't see, everyday I grow a little, everyday I learn a little more about myself and the things around me, everyday I love a little more. And so I guess the days of being an evolving teenager on the journey into adulthood isn't so bad after all.

First day back at school, sucked.

Attempt at tee, suspenders and jeans, failed. Cos' I ended up feeling fat and my shirt kept riding up. Looney CCS lecturer killed my afternoon cos' of her sudden decision to launch a rampage on the class and stomp off. Very mature, I'd say. Very mature. Besides, I was mega excited to present my slides cos' I made them very colourful and pretty. But I never got the chance to. So, go die, you looney-ballooney woman, how dare you burst a 17-year-old's presentation bubble.

Headed home feeling fatter and flabbier than ever, and I can't work it off at a gym cos' I'm recovering from flu. So I have decided. It is now time to take extreme measures towards weight-loss. I need to lose weight badly. So badly. So I guess it's the jump-around-room treatment for me now. Till my flu goes away and then I can terrorize all the other bunnies at the gym.

Sigh. One looney rampage=one deflated afternoon. *Summons suicide bunny army to launch bunny rampage on looney lecturer*

Figured since I'm doing a Milo picture, I might as well do a comic strip while I'm at it. Ended up submitting the last frame only for the competition. But oh well, I'm seriously not too keen on winning a year's supply of Milo products....so, I'm letting this pass.

Been sick lately, this is the third time I'm getting an MC in three weeks consecutively. And at times I'd wish that the doctor would give me a week's worth of MCs. I'm just far too tired. Got two warning letters bout' my attendance for Love Relations and Logistics class. Sigh, guess I'd be spamming the office with MCs from now on. Let the projects and tutorials stop already. On Saturday we celebrated my aunt's birthday at Wild Rocket; a cosy restaurant at the first level of the hotel, Hang Out @ Mt. Emily. Led by a young chef, the food served was a intriguing fusion of the Eastern and Western flavours, tantalizing our taste buds with every bite. Every course was a surprise, greeted with dilated pupils and gasps of wonder. A delightful evening, despite the perpetual downpour, threatening to dampen spirits. As all that started well would end well, desserts served with elegance broke all stereotypes of cakes and shakes to end a meal with. Take a short hike up Mt. Emily and let your taste buds run free with the magical concoctions of Wild Rocket.

It was the semi-finals on Saturday night and our very dear Christina advanced to the finals! Yay!

Well, I wouldn't say it was superb singing everywhere but I'm proud of Christina. Love the way she sang her second song...it was beautiful. You go, girl! We'll all be rooting for you during the finals!

The battle is over. For now.

Being a not-too-sober warrior for the past 5 days, I'm pretty amazed how I battled and survived...my MSTs. Yeah, I was at the brink of death for a couple of papers but at least this drunken soldier's never-say-die spirit (I'm lying) prevailed. Thank God for wonderful blessings. Alright, basically the fact that I'm still alive and typing nonsense.

On a lighter note, I finally cleared out my closet! It's so friggin' neat and empty now, I could just stare at the insides of my closet(s) for say.....an hour. I took out heaps of clothes that I didn't want to wear anymore/couldn't fit/too big for me/did not belong to me in the first place and chucked all of them out of my room. Some were passed to my mum and aunt to see if they were keen, specially those that were brand new cos' I bought them on impulse. So now my closet is clean and ready for GSS! Wonderful timing this is, simply wonderful.

So apart from these, I, unwillingly, had to play fire-fighter and put out a verbal/behavioral fire last night due to multiple reasons (like I really wanted to go home...heh, kidding). It was no fun at all, a few thousands of my precious brain cells probably got scorched, suffocated by the smoke or burnt alive, contributing to the low levels of consciousness I'm experiencing now. No fun, no fun. I hope it NEVER happens again. Either that or I'm gonna ask for an oxygen supply.

It's friggin' 3.29 AM and I'm awake. Unbelievable. Thought I'd knock myself out cold once I hit my fuzzy nook.

Anyway, just completed a bitching session with boyfriend, basically I bitched about this freshie and other stuff which uh, rubbed me the wrong way today(this is an understatement). Shall not go into details cos' it'll get me all worked up and I'll prolly end up sleeping at 5 AM of which I seriously do not wish to.

Soul mates.

I was just thinking about how much I used to listen to the song, 'Soul mate' by Natasha Bedingfield. I was down in the doldrums back then, wallowing in self-pity. So just as I was thinking back, the radio coincidentally played the song on air and the nostalgia button came on and I was deep in thoughts again.

Then, I had a weird relationship with myself, I was running away from myself, running away from feelings that I had, or have had for approximately three years or so. The source of those feelings, was one person that meant the world to me back then and could probably pull at my heart strings as and when he wanted to, consciously or subconsciously. But I moved on.

So then came this special one, who threw me into a whirlpool of emotions and fears, and caught me just as I fell. He sent me flying up to the heavens and I stayed there for quite awhile till reality caught up with us and we were forced to face the limitations of work and school. But we managed...

Till it all came crashing down. Heaven to hell in fifty seconds. Way faster than the bullet trains in Japan but it mattered to me as much as the bullet trains mattered to some techno-freak in Japan. And it sucked me dry, leaving me void of emotions, not knowing what to do or feel, doubting the strength of our foundation. One person, made me happier than I've ever had, and also made me morph into a being that I have never seen.

Decided that I wasn't gonna survive today if i did pull myself out of bed at 0600 cos' I felt so darn sore in the gut and my head felt like it had a tractor attached to it.

So I stayed home and spaced out at the teevee before I dropped by the clinic to get an MC whilst the doctor fixed my cough with meds and all. And I brilliantly forgot to mention that I wanted something that wouldn't cause drowsiness so now the game is on, me versus cough syrup.

And the score? Me, one. Cough syrup, zeeeeero.

Well, I guess that's all for today. Tomorrow's gonna be another gruesome day with class starting at 0800 but I'll survive. Cough syrup or not.

I'm tired, I tried to be a funny/ friendly/ nice/ cool/ lame/ cavalier/ bored/ entertaining/ patronising senior during today's orientation for the freshmen. The whole day was about e-learning and e-services so naturally it was dry like desert ground. Speaking to a full class of expressionless zombies(i swear even zombies have more expression) who prolly had more sleep that I did,was not the most encouraging thing to happen to me on a monday morning.

So yeah, it's gonna be the second day of orientation for them tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be more sober and be able to take on everything that comes smacking me in the face.

Study Trip in Hong Kong; Day Three!

The usual routine: wake up at 0820, wash up, have breakfast then meet up with the rest at 1000. Today's first station was gonna be the Asia World Expo. Works like our Singapore Expo just a whole lot bigger.

After visiting the expo, we took a bus down to Citygate Mall where the shopping commences! Majority of the shops there were warehouse outlets so the prices there can go as low as a quarter of the original price! Pity I didn't have much cash with me so eventually I only got a top from Esprit and a pullover from Giordano. They were cute tops though, so it's cool.

At around 1630 we took the coach back to our hotel to dump whatever stuff we bought before heading down to Tsim Sha Tsui for dinner. There was supposedly some musical thingie going on by the sea but we were lazy so we decided to give it a miss and head down to Times Square at Causeway Bay for more shopping! And that's where I got my ubaaaaaaa cute octopus! I'll post photos of it soon, I promise.

After Times Square, which we didn't exactly spend much time there cos' we got there a lil' close to closing time, we headed back to Ladies' Market for some late night retail. Nee and I got jackets and Adela got tees. They're all really cute. Specially Adela's tee with the mummified boy-looking thing.

Walked back to the hotel after going round the area for say, a few rounds and this time, we got cup noodles for supper! Just that we forgot to get the forks from the cashier. So we called the reception 3 TIMES and got our chopsticks. Cup noodles, superb invention.

Next day was gonna start early so we PLANNED to turn in early but pretty much failed at it and ended up sleeping at 0200 anyway.

Day Four! Ocean Park and home sweet home!

Study Trip to Hong Kong; Day Two!

Alright, I'm too lazy to upload all the photos one by one cos' there's simply too many so I've separated them into two slideshows! Brilliant, yes?

Got up at around 0820. Went down for breakfast and met up with the rest at the lobby at 1000. Took the coach to Disneyland!!! I swear when everyone got there, the kid in us was awaken from its long slumber and we were all really stoked about Disneyland despite the cold wind and temperatures.

We decided to have a go at all of the rides in order to make our time there worthwhile. We eventually didn't manage to ride of the rides but there were a few memorable ones like Space Mountain, which scared the crap out of us and the snapshot of us caught all of us in the >o< color="#ffff00">a few more minutes and then proceeded to take a 10-minute walk back to our hotel. It felt less than 10 minutes though, or maybe it was just that the cold wind got to my head and I was too focused on getting back quickly than bothering bout' the time. Either way it was a pretty eventful day for us and I really glad we got to go to Disneyland to see how they much effort they put in to decorate the place and also to fit the theme of the different 'lands'. Even the staffs have different 'uniforms'!

We reached the hotel around 2315 and without fail, we went to bed nearing 0230.

Day Three: Asia World Expo, City gate, Tsim Sha Tsui, Times Square and Ladies' Market again!

Study Trip to Hong Kong; Day One

Woke up at 0500 to wash up then got onto my uncle's cab at 0600 to head down to Jelapang to fetch Nee at 0615. We reached the airport at around 0645 and stood around, waited for check-in. Had a short breakfast with Nee, Adela's mom, Adela and my mom at the staff canteen.

Boarded the plane at about 0900 and Nee was like uber excited so she kept asking if we were flying yet. Cute.

We arrived in Hong Kong at about 1300 and roamed around the airport for customs checking and baggage collection.

Took a 40-minute ride on the coach to our hotel, Metropark Hotel, Kowloon. Stood around till 1500 and collected our room keys. The room's pretty spacious for a triple-sharing room, I must say.

Went down to the lobby at 1600 to meet up with the rest and took the coach to Stanley Market. There wasn't much to shop there so we three hungry souls had Delifrance in attempt to keep our stomachs quiet.

Another short ride on the coach followed, which brought us to Repulse Bay. We walked past a temple-looking place before hitting the shore. Seeing that the skies were turning dark, we quickly snapped pictures and headed down to the beach, embracing the feeling of the chilly wind against our faces.

Next up was The Peak. We took the coach up and spend a short while up there. Pity that the beautiful night scene of Hong Kong was masked by thick fog or it'll have been perfect. Ah well, I got a snap of the lamp though, which I thought looked pretty much like a painting.

Next, we took the tram down to Central. The experience on the tram with friends was sweet. But the whole pushing and noise created by the PRCs simply killed the ambience. I have to say I'm not some stereotype nor do I have a thing against the PRCs but they really left us a very bad impression while we were in Hong Kong. And I mean ALL FOUR DAYS.

Bad experiences aside, dinner at Central was not exactly very smart, given that Central works somewhat like Singapore's Central Business District. So with a tight budget and no cheap+good food around, we settled for noodles at a small restaurant which cost us HK$58 each. Not exactly the best I've tasted, but at least it kept me filled for the night.

Took the MTR from Central station to Tsim Sha Tsui station and walked back to the hotel. Uber long walk. Learnt later that we should have alighted at Mong Kok station instead. Well, walking's good exercise...no? We reached the hotel at approx. 2330

So that was pretty much Day One. Fell asleep at around 0200 with sore legs.

Day Two: Disneyland!!!!!!!!!

Dinner & Dance wasn't too bad last night. I had fun with the girls and, uhm, guys. Got home at about three in the morning and slept oh-so-well till one in the afternoon today. Finally a good night's sleep after many loathesome nights of dreams.

On another note, I AM FAT! UBER FAT! And so I need to lose weight, tons of it. Well, like I've told Bernice, it's either that or that the angle of the photos taken last night were just wrong. But I'm pretty much sticking with the statement that I am fat.

So with that in mind, I'm going to start work at Media Fiesta tomorrow at nine in the morning at Marina Square (the main atrium) so do drop by if you're around the area. Media Fiesta is on through till Sunday(:

Today:

I met Bernice at Mac to have breakfast before heading to the gym. After that we went to my place to wash up then took the bus to Jurong Point to shop for presents (just me). And we both got our second piercing on our right ear! Ear piercing is addictive.

So yeah, we split for home after that and basically that was another fulfilling day spent. I think I deserve a pat on the back(:

Imma go continue enjoying every lil' bit of my vacation now.

Ranting of the day:

I do not understand why lately people omit the process of apologising after bumping into you/ stepping on you. Like, was there some unofficial proclaimation that if you APOLOGISE after a slight accident, you're UNCOOL??? If there was, I swear nobody stuck the post-it on my door. I seriously think it should all be an integrated part of basic mannerism to apologise. It's either brains out there are turning into mush or the standard of basic mannerism is droppinggggg. BIG TIME. I'm not gonna tolerate this behavior, I swear, I'm not gonna just silently walk away. I'm gonna deal with it. As loudly as I can. So good luck to the next bugger that trods on my slipper; he/she is a goner.

Enlightening points of the day:

Being the only child - is actually not that bad a thing. Yes, at times it's a lil' lonely and frustrating but after so many years, I've realised that it actually teaches me not to rely too much on people. And actually be comfortable in my own skin; enough to do things alone and ignoring the weird looks that some staff members give when they realise I'm alone. So I guess I'd say it's a blessing in many disguises; a part of me.

Turning 18 but barely there - basically being a teenager/ young adult is, great. At 18, I'd get the booze, nights out partying and the life. On the other hand, I'm barely treated like an adult, some old haaaaaaaags don't take me seriously and some think I'm some imbecile. But it's cool. Cos' that means I still have the youth and energy to do retarded things, turn spastic, be irresponsible and angsty at times and nobody is going to strangle me with both hands or give me THE LOOK for it.
So what's bad about being an angsty, unpredictable, erratic, basically crazy teenager? Nothing.

Decision of the day:

I'm gonna go learn how to drive and get a license. Whether I'm gonna be a career-minded woman or not, I'm gonna learn how to drive. Cos' when I become a mom, I wanna be one that can drive my kids around. Driving mom with a fashion sense. Sounds wonderful to me.

I remember how you made me smile, the funny things you did and the way you scuttled from place to place, discovering comfy spots in this new home of yours. Purpose.

Sitting in the reflection session for last Saturday's leaders' training, I listened to Mr Alvin Lee mention the word,'purpose' multiple times. He states that there would be no value if there were no purpose. And it set me thinking...

This is probably the busiest Christmas and also the very first working one of my life. I'd say it's a lil' tiring and at times it takes the festive mood out of you. But listening to The Sandcastle Story last night, I started wondering,"What is my purpose in singing with the choir and the church a capella group, in volunteering for Chingay and being in the volunteer exco for that matter? What is the value of doing all these things and keeping my December filled to the brim?"

And I suppose this would take awhile, to find purpose in everything that I do and create value.

Awaking to a bright and sunny Wednesday morning -despite the nonsensical tantrums of my fan- I began the morning routine of washing up and grabbing the orange juice from the fridge. Drinking from the carton, I picked up my schedule, and with the resonant chimes of the wind chime filling the air around the apartment, I started keying in the many meetings and activities that I have in December. After what felt like forever, I was done. Staring at the calendar in my cell phone, I instantaneously realised that my 3-week vacation is nearly filled to the brim! Dejection sinks in. Somebody refund me my December.

Finally... 3 weeks of vacation!!!

I went to watch the TPCC Christmas concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall last night with Bernice, Tracy and Daren. It wasn't too bad. A whole range of different Christmas songs, most unheard of in my case but I still enjoyed it.

Today was pretty simple and enjoyable. There was the preview for the Aca group in church which I thought went pretty well and then it was lunch with the peeps and tea with my parents. At last, I feel alive again.

And presenting... My very first Benefit cosmetic! Bought by Mummy dearest, I now get to tap into the wonderful world of Benefit cosmetics. Now I shall be more motivated to study hard, get a job with great pay and indulge myself silly. Ah, tis' is the season to be jolly.

Headed to church for practice and when practice was about over, Wei Xin, Jayne and Magdeline came in with a cake! Cookies and cream! Thanks guys! Thanks baby(: It was really sweet. Really.

Sunday:

Went to church for service then there was vocal class and I was off to meet the girls at Breeks! to have dinner. Jiayi came pretty late but she got me a cake! Blackforest! Sigh, what can I say. I can never get enough Blackforest cake within a span of 2 days.

The girls got me gifts that were both pretty and cute.
